1. "'Captain America' arrested over pants-burrito": Kinda just speaks for itself, don't it?
["A doctor in Florida is facing charges, after being accused of groping a woman while wearing a Captain America uniform with a burrito stuffed down his tights. The incident, hardly fitting behaviour for a superhero, happened after 54-year-old Dr. Raymond Adamcik went on a bar-crawl with a number of other costume-wearing medics. Witnesses said that Adamcik was walking around with the burrito tucked into the waistband of his costume, asking women if they wanted to touch it. When one woman refused to touch the burrito, it is alleged that the doctor removed the snack and groped her."]
2. "Shrek, promoter of sugary treats, thumped as exercise advocate": The juggernaut lumbers on. See the video in question here.
["Is Shrek pure dreck as a spokesman for healthier lifestyles for kids? The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood thinks so. The child advocacy group based at Harvard University has asked the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to stop using the animated green ogre in public service TV commercials that promote more exercise for kids."]
3. "Rosie O'Donnell to leave "The View" mid-June": See italicized section for a statement from GLAAD president Neil G. Giuliano.
[""From her first day on The View, Rosie put lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues front and center in America's living rooms," says GLAAD President Neil G. Giuliano. "By telling stories about her own family, her wife and children, she brought unprecedented visibility to our lives and significant cultural change during a time when we are fighting every day in this country for equality. While always opinionated and sometimes controversial, Rosie used her national platform to tell our stories, and for that, gay people and our straight allies will always be grateful."]
4. "A List of Things Thrown Five Minutes Ago": A frequently updated entertainment news blog; much commentary, no wagering.
["Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead or otherwise is purely coincidental. Lost ticket pays maximum rate. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball. Any rebroadcast, reproduction, or other use of the pictures and accounts of this website without the express written consent of Major League Baseball is encouraged. This is only an exhibition; please, for heaven's sake, no wagering."]
5. "918. While the City Sleeps (1956, Fritz Lang)": House contributor Kevin Lee continues his countdown of Jonathan Rosenbaum's Top 1000 Films, this time in the form of a video essay. See also our "Clip of the Day".
["Here's my first attempt at a video essay. I hope to do more of these with future entries in the project, as an alternative to text or even text with video. Feedback is welcome as I develop this format of analysis."]
