1. Here's some fun fan stuff for your weekend. Over at The Auteurs' forum, they're creating fan art Criterion covers. Lots of cool work in this thread.
["Every other forum has a similar thread, so we should have one too (especially since we're actually connected to the real company... somehow). So, if you're like me and you play around in Photoshop to make your future Criterion-release dreams a slight reality, or if you just like making prestigious covers for horrible movies, post them here."]
2. Parrots Join Humans on the Dance Floor. But ... but ... that was OUR dance floor. (Also, elephants!)
["The videos show that yes, the bird will match his moves to the beat. For the slower versions, he sways his entire body like a pendulum. But, Schulz says, when the music gets faster, 'he understands to adjust his movements. If he's going to sway, don't sway as much, just bob your head.'"]
3. ABC and Disney Shows Join Hulu. Hulu is the Internet's greatest video player, and it's making an even better case for itself now that ABC has joined NBC and Fox in the service, leaving CBS the last major holdout. Finally! Phineas and Ferb on the Internets!
["Hulu is the popular online video site that, up til now, has featured shows from the Fox family of channels as well as NBC Universal network and cable realm. With ABC joining in, Hulu's popularity is likely to increase (it's already the third most popular video destination on the Web, according to a recent Hulu press release, and served 41.5 million viewers in March)."]
4. Robot Attacked Swedish Factory Worker. Matt Maul sent this to me with the comment "And they have a plan." Aces.
["But the robot suddenly came to life and grabbed a tight hold of the victim's head. The man succeeded in defending himself but not before suffering serious injuries. "]
5. Finally, folks, humor. It's not the world's greatest repository of witty repartee, but Texts from Last Night is a collection of all the weird stuff people text in the middle of the night.
["(714): OMG I just tried to text you something dirty but accidentally texted the obama campaign"]
