It was nearly a full year ago that Lana Del Rey announced that her long-awaited new album would be titled Stove. The album, the follow-up to 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, will, according to the elusive singer-songwriter, have a “country flair.” Now, she’s teased a new release date for the set and announced a companion album to boot.

“So much has happened over the last four years,” Del Rey posted on Instagram today. “[I]n between the songs came new thoughts about old friends and new dreams and from the doubt of whether the tree I had been planting would grow came new sprouts and so grew a new rose bush underneath the willow.” That’s LDR-speak for “a secondary compilation of songs.”

Del Rey went on to promise that she’ll complete the compilation within a month, after which she’ll send both albums to be manufactured on vinyl, which typically takes about three months. So fans could expect the long-gestating project to arrive by year’s end. “Stove is so lovely and intact as it was intended to be—a classic album if I may say,” she added.

In addition to the songs she’s performed live in concert, Del Rey has dropped three singles from Stove so far, including “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” a tribute to her husband. In April, she also released “First Light,” the title song from the 007 First Light video game.
