Solar Ash is the Los Angeles-based Heart Machine’s first game since 2016’s Hyper Light Drifter.

Solar Ash

During today’s Summer Game Fest 2021 Kickoff Live event, Annapurna Interactive and Heart Machine revealed a new gameplay clip for Solar Ash. The game, which will launch later this year, is the Los Angeles-based Heart Machine’s long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s Hyper Light Drifter, which lets combat speak for the story and trusts its murder’s row of cool ideas to, well, murder players. Here’s hoping for more of the same.

According to Annapurna and Heart Machine, “Solar Ash is a 3D third-person action platformer filled with sunken cities, vast water shelves, dangerous lava zones and more. Players take on the role of a Voidrunner named Rei who traverses through these dangerous biomes.”
