Lichman & Rizov “Live” at Grassroots Tavern: Episode 14, “We’ve Got Vadim’s Number: An Armond White Tale” with Michael Tully & James M. Johnston

Episode 14 is really “Episode Tavern” and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Lichman & Rizov Live at Grassroots Tavern: Episode 14, We've Got Vadim's Number: An Armond White Tale with Michael Tully & James M. Johnston

Hey Faithful Listeners.Wowie zowie. We finally finished our massive three-part Episode 13—and just in time! Or, not. See, we recorded Ep. Tavern a while ago and what? Wait, do you mean “Episode 14”? No, see, your faithful producer and all-around damn handsome co-host had a slip of the tongue extending from alcohol, M. Night Shyamalan, and a bit of the ol’ ultraviolence.

OK, really, it was the liquor that did me in.

That aside, Episode 14 is really “Episode Tavern” and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Mainly because it was the day before The Happening was unleashed onto the public in one of the saddest opening weekends known to man. But for the occasion we had Michael Tully (who is still not the pole jumper) and James M. Johnston (the director) join us to discuss The Happening, the IFP labs, and our first ever vegan sponsorships—by a reverend!! (Listen through the entire podcast to get yourself a free soda-pop, listener!)

Of course, due to a slight lag in publishing, Michael’s initial enthusiasm was finally a bit crushed, but that is why you have to hear his soul be pounded with such delicious glee!

So listen through and be amazed. And join us later this week (or next) when our guest is Salon’s (and Vadim’s and my former advisor) Andrew O’Hehir (Ep. 15) , followed by the Benten Films guys (Ep. 16), and more fun guests to come.

Until then, if you see either Vadim or myself at a bar, buy us a drink! We’re overdue. And if you need to know, Vadim looks like Vadim and I look like an evil John Cusack. JL
