Karen O, “The Moon Song”: After getting a preview of Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O’s “The Moon Song” in the trailer for Spike Jonze’s upcoming film, Her, the singer has released the full version and is giving away 10,000 free downloads of the track here. O and Jonze previously collaborated on 2009’s Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack. Her will be released in theaters at the end of the year. Expect the soundtrack around the same time.
Paul McCartney, “New”: Paul McCartney’s new single, “New,” doesn’t sound very new at all, but that’s probably the point. The bouncy, vintage-sounding track, produced by Mark Ronson, is from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming solo album of the same name, due October 15th.
Arctic Monkeys, “Stop the World I Wanna Get Off with You”: Arctic Monkeys have shared “Stop the World I Wanna Get Off with You,” a B-side from their new album, AM, out September 10th. The characteristically unwieldy song title isn’t so much an homage to Modern English’s ‘80s—err, ‘90s—hit “Melt with You” as it is an opportunity to make an admittedly cheeky pun.
Frankie Rose, “Street of Dreams”: Brooklyn’s Frankie Rose has revealed a second song off her forthcoming Fat Possum debut, Herein Wild, out September 24th. The track is a cover of British punk band the Damned’s “Street of Dreams” and also sports a subtle Billy Idol vibe.
MØ featuring Diplo, “XXX 88”: “XXX 88,” which premiered last night on BBC Radio 1, is a collaboration between Danish singer Karen Marie Ørsted and producer Diplo. The single will be released on October 20th.
