Taylor Swift has dropped an official music video for “Opalite,” a standout track and fan favorite from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl. Taking an unconventional approach, Swift released the clip exclusively on Apple Music and Spotify Premium today, which will be followed by a YouTube premiere on Sunday.
The move comes after YouTube withdrew its streaming data from all Billboard charts last month in protest of the U.S. trade publication’s continued emphasis on subscription-based streams over free, ad-supported streams, which make up the bulk of YouTube viewership. So it’s no surprise that pop’s reigning chart queen would shift her focus to platforms that will maximize the song’s position on next week’s Hot 100.
Directed by Swift, the six-minute video spoofs infomercials from the 1980s and ’90s, in this case a miracle product called Opalite, which promises to transform your “crappiness into happiness.” Scrunchies, aerobics, pet rocks, and cameos abound, including Domhnall Gleeson as the lonely man to Swift’s lonely woman, Graham Norton, Cillian Murphy, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, and Lewis Capaldi.
