IFC Films has just released a new trailer for Paul Schrader’s The Canyons, written by Bret Easton Ellis and starring high-speed celebrity train wreck Linsday Lohan and heroically prolific porn star next door James Deen, ne Bryan Matthew Sevilla. The film, rejected from SXSW last year for hilarious reasons by some intern probably, seems to have been seen by no one except for Cinema Scope’s Phil Coldiron, whose review suggests that the film is dominated by lots of looking at stuff, but no actual looking at the “duck-footed” Deen’s Pasadena-bred circumcised penis. Sigh. The Film Society of Lincoln Center will debut the film on July 29, with Schrader in attendance, before opening on August 2 On Demand, digital download, an in select theaters.
