Meet Me in Montenegro is yet another movie about a failed writer with no money.
The film is top-heavy and light-footed, racing its winning idea—that fascism can still be attractive to some, even in modern Germany—past itself.
The film’s primary interest seems to be wish fulfillment, but it’s hard to tell at times exactly whose fantasies these are supposed to be.
