Bonnaroo ended Sunday on a more laidback note. Fans who stayed to the end, and there were still many thousands of them despite the wilting sun, got to chill with hippie bands like Ween, Father John Misty, and headliner Dead and Company (former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann got some added guitar firepower from John Mayer, pictured above).

After two days of searing heat, fans at Bonnaroo finally got some relief when a storm gently blew through on Saturday night bringing some light rain. But lightning prompted promoters to empty the festival for about an hour, moving the party to the campgrounds. That pushed back the starting time of headliner Pearl Jam and forced other artists to change stages. No one seemed to mind. Several late-night bands were still playing when the sun came up Sunday morning. Nothing says Bonnaroo like an all-nighter.

The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival kicked off yesterday in Manchester, TN, with a soft opening, the bands not starting until well into the hot afternoon. As usual, lots of up-and-coming bands, like Bully (above), filled the undercard: world music first, then folk rock, then easing into to a night of rap and EDM. Check out our photos from the warm-up stretch for the all-day and all-night marathon to come and check back each day of the festival for most pics!
