Judging by the first single, “Drew,” Goldfrapp’s new album, Tales of Us, sounds like it will be a cross between the duo’s lush 2000 debut, Felt Mountain, and 2008’s more organic Seventh Tree. Described by the band as a series of cinematic character sketches, the album will be the group’s first in over three years. Yesterday the pair unveiled the music video for “Drew,” which depicts a hallucinatory orgy in the English countryside, directed by Lisa Gunning. Check it out below.
Goldfrapp kicks off a tour in support of the album at the Manchester International Festival today and tomorrow, accompanied by the Royal Northern College of Music orchestra. Tales of Us is due out on September 10th.
