I already added a link to this article in the February 7th post ”World travelling,” but I’m reproducing it here to make sure everyone sees it. It’s an Ithaca Journal article on the cataloging of natural sounds for use in soundscapes, including The New World. Amazing stuff, particularly the details about the red wolf and the ivory billed woodpecker, which was long thought extinct, but rediscovered in time for a cameo.
By the way, that February 7th assortment of Malick links has been substantially expanded and updated, so take another glance if you’re so inclined.
