Robyn Releases New Music Video for Single Love Is Free

Nearly six months after the track made its premiere online, Robyn’s “Love Is Free,” the first single from the Swedish singer’s La Bagatelle Magique project, a collaboration with Markus Jägerstedt and the late Christian Falk, finally gets an official music video. It’s not hard to see why it took so long: The intricately choreographed clip, directed by SSION, opens with Robyn and guest artist Maluca having a slumber party, but dreamy flashes of a soundstage quickly reveal that things aren’t what they seem. Robyn and Maluca wander off their bedroom set and storm adjacent film shoots, the only constant being a bubble bee crawling over cookies and cupcakes and landing in the palm of an actress in a foreign art-house film. In a tribute to Falk, who passed away last year from cancer, the producer/musician is seen on a monitor in brief glimpses throughout the video performing with his band Imperiet.
