Tomorrow, Cinema Tropical will honor the 10 Best Latin American Films of the Decade (2000 - 2009) with the first edition of the Cinema Tropical Awards at the TimesCenter in New York City. According the official site, “The winners were selected by a poll that Cinema Tropical culled from New York film professionals in December 2009.”
For LA Weekly, Michael Joshua Rowin looks at Tomás Gutiérrez Alea’s great Memories of Underdevelopment and Miguel Coyula’s sequel Memories of Overdevelopment. Both films will screen back-to-back at the REDCAT in Los Angeles on October 23.
