It's official:
Slant Magazine will be running the
ING New York City Marathon on November 4th! More specifically, film editor Ed Gonzalez will be running the marathon this year, alongside sometime
Slant contributor Kevin B. Lee, who some of you will know from his writings for
Cinema Scope,
Reverse Shot,
The House Next Door, and his own blog,
Shooting Down Pictures. Both Ed and Kevin will be running for charity—specifically,
Team Continuum, an organization that provides "immediate and vital, non-medical, assistance to cancer patients and their families where the diagnosis results in disruption, hardship and uncertainty in their everyday lives"—and you can help! They're each trying to raise $2,500 for the charity, which means if everyone who reads this site in one day were to donate one dollar to each of them, they'd both meet their quota almost two times over. Our broke asses have refrained from asking for money to keep
Slant online these past six years, so if you dig Team Continuum's cause and/or appreciate what we continue to bring you every day on this site, show your love by clicking
here and supporting Ed with a tax-deductible donation, which can be done completely anonymously. (To contribute to Kevin's cause, click
here.) Anyone can donate (even you, Wayne Kramer), and no amount is too small! If you would prefer to donate through PayPal, please click on the button below.
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot Ed an
email. Cheers and thanks for your support!
