mi Hendrix in Murray Lerner's Blue Wild Angel

Recorded one month before Jimi Hendrix's death, Murray Lerner's Blue Wild Angel: Jimi Hendrix Live at the Isle of Wight is a celebration of one of rock n' rolls most vital figures. Taking the stage at a concert in England's Isle of Wight, Hendrix advises his audience to "stand up for your country" before launching into a rendition of The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper." While Blue Wild Angel is no where near as resonant as Woodstock or Gimme Shelter, Hendrix fans won't mind. The musician remains strangely distant from his guitar throughout the show though it all comes together with his soulful performances of "Red House" and Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower."
