Posted by Anonymous on 2011-06-23 02:10:59 This whole Stanley Kubrick aspect ratio thing is bizarre. Even more so that people only seem to be focusing on "Barry Lyndon." There was a list produced (by Vitali, I think) that apparently showed all the intended aspect ratios for Kubrick's films. I can't find the list now, of course (thanks, Google), but I remember some of the films mentioned had different aspect ratios that what we're getting on the current DVDs and Blu-rays. For example, I remember "The Shining" being listed as 1.33:1, but the recent DVD and Blu-ray editions display it at what I'm pretty sure is 1.78:1, and I think the same goes for "Eyes Wide Shut" as well.
