
The Darjeeling Limited is out on Blu-ray today from the Criterion Collection. Included in the package is a lovely 11-minute video essay ("Chaos and Control") by House founder Matt Zoller Seitz. According to Glenn Heath Jr., it's "a wonderful critical examination indicative of the writer's considerable impact on new forms of online film criticism."
Back to the Future comes to Blu-ray on October 26. The package will include a feature in which director Robert Zemeckis and executive producer Steven Spielberg recall the colossal unfunniness of Eric Stoltz, the original Marty McFly.
Derek Cianfrance's Blue Valentine, about a couple whose marriage is disintegrating, faces an NC-17 rating from the MPAA if the Weinstein Company doesn't spay and neuter Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams.
On the heels of a lawsuit filed by the Anne Coulter Fan Club Log Cabin Republicans, a federal judge has issued a worldwide injunction stopping enforcement of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. It now remains to be seen if the Department of Justice will appeal the ruling.
In related news, the trailer for Universal's Vince Vaughn comedy The Dilemma is less gay now. Anderson Cooper, who originally denounced the trailer on CNN, is now more so.
