Posted by Matt Maul on 2010-04-01 19:33:36 It's a bit weird to see Badu, a high school classmate of mine, starring in a video shot at Dealey Plaza in our hometown. It's a bit disconcerting on a number of levels, not the least of which is, the JFK assassination traumatized Dallas in ways that have yet to be fully understood, and it's tough to accept that we're now far enough away from it that it can be treated as a pop culture landmark rather than a murder site. I'm trying to project 30 years into the future and picture some musician doing something similar at the World Trade Center site.
