Deleted your last "Fuck you" zik because I mistakingly had Hairspray as having won an ensemble award that we didn't even give out. Yeah, pretty much had your reaction to the list.

You beat me to the punch: I was about to say, "I didn't vote for any ensemble cast award!" The only one I outright disagree with is "Juno" in best original screenplay (seriously?), and while I think "King of Kong" is a near-great film, it's obvious that it benefited from the screeners more than anything. Compare to "Into Great Silence", it doesn't.

Into Great Silence was one of our documentary nominees, right? That was a surprise, but I gather it snuck through by a hair, with the glowing support of the small group who saw it and understood it as the documentary of the year. Being on two critics groups has been illuminating. It's showed me that most critics are every bit the sheep that the Academy's voting bloc are: If a movie doesn't get sent to them in screener form, it simply doesn't exist.

Yeah, as much as people such as yourself have complained about the screener prejudice in the past, I saw every bit of it this year. In a way, I kicked myself for every film I didn't get to see in time, but most of those were the big screener titles anyhow. Sorry, but I can't say that I'm exactly pumped to catch "Michael Clayton."
